Make Your Vote Count
I’m not talking about voting in federal elections I’m talking about voting for you your favourite read. Better Reading are huge supporters of books and reading and every year they conduct a poll to find out what you, the reader, think is your favourite book.
You can vote for any book still in print but I hope you’ll focus your love on Australian books. This is a great opportunity for you to support the Australian book industry. AND if my book Head for the Hills happens to be your favourite I’d be thrilled to get your vote of course.
Making the Top 100 list means a book stays on the shelves in Big W shops Australia-wide for a whole year. There are many great international titles you might enjoy but they already claim a lot of shelf space. Australian books are battling against overseas imports to have a spot on the shelves in our own shops so a vote for an Australian book is a small way you can help to keep them available for readers.
Voting ends on Sunday 4 May at 5pm after which the Better Reading team collate the 100 most-voted-for books, and then seven lucky winners will each receive a pack of all 100 titles. That could be you.
